Jean (Tolomei) GiangriecoOf Hallstead, PA Jean Giangrieco our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, and Friend passed away peacefully on November 6, 2018 at the age of 85. Jean was predeceased by husband John D. Giangrieco, parents Nello and Josephine Tolomei, son William (Bill) Giangrieco, and granddaughter, Rebecca (Giangrieco) Newman. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John A. and Ruth Giangrieco, Jim and Frida Giangrieco; grandsons, Jason (Lisa) Giangrieco, Eric (Gabby) Giangrieco; granddaughter Beth (Nick) Stoud; great grandchildren, Shelby Newman, Ryan Giangrieco, Andrew Giangrieco, Harper Stoud, Olivia Stoud and Natalie Stoud; brother Angelo (Bonnie) Tolomei; sister Shirley Hartmann and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Giangrieco and many nieces and nephews. Jean was born on June 23, 1933 to parents Nello and Josie Tolomei. She grew up on Erie Avenue in Susquehanna and attended Laurel Hill Academy Catholic School.  On April 26, 1952 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Susquehanna she married John D. Giangrieco and they made their home in Hallstead PA.  Jean was a member of the St. Lawrence Church in Great Bend, PA. She retired from the Blue Ridge School District where she managed the school cafeteria. She enjoyed cooking and loved to cook for lots of people which made her well suited for her career in the school food service program. Jean spent her summers in Cape Vincent, NY at Pond’s Marina where she enjoyed entertaining family and friends but would very seldom ever venture off land. Having family around her was always important and at every opportunity would find ways to gather around the dining room table.    A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the St. John’s Church in Susquehanna, PA, on Monday, November 12, 2018, at 10:00am, with Rev. David Cramer officiating. Interment will be held in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
