Jean Mazikewich, 97, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Helen Callanan; husband William Mazikewich; brothers Francis Callanan, John Callanan; and sister Marie Osterhout.

Jean is survived by her children Richard and Mary Mazikewich, William and Jane Mazikewich and Joan Mazikewich; six grandchildren, Ann Marie Rackowski, Amy Kenneally, Alec Mazikewich, Stephen Mazikewich, Meghan Dooley and JoAnna Dooley; great grandchildren Emma Rackowski, Jack Rackowski, Sawyer Mazikewich, Leah Kenneally, John Kenneally and Vivian Mazikewich; along with several nieces and nephews.

Jean was a lifetime resident of Susquehanna, PA. She was a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy and a lifelong member of St. John’s Church and its women’s organizations. Jean worked several jobs in her lifetime. She is most remembered for her work as a nurse’s aid at Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility. She also assisted her husband Bill at the family business, Home Town Cleaners. She and her husband Bill will forever be remembered for their legendary Christmas Eve parties held at the family home.

The family thanks the staff at Barnes Kasson SNF and hospital for the care she received during her final days. A special thank you to Dr. B. Patel for his kind and compassionate care for our mother.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:00am at St. John’s Church, 15 East Church St. Susquehanna, PA.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA.
