Joan Benson Of North Jackson, PA Joan Benson of North Jackson, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Barnes Kasson SNF, Susquehanna, PA. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Gertrude Scott; loving husband, Robert H. Benson; son-in-laws Kirk Zurn and Judson Holdredge; grandson Ty Zurn; great grandson Jacoby Benson. Joan is survived by her son, R. Scott Benson and daughter Ellen Holdredge; daughter-in-law Diane Sansky; grandchildren Adam & Maribeth, Melinda, Traci & Paul, Tiffany & Jared; eight great grandchildren, Benson, Camile, Lincoln, Chloee, Blake, Kyla, Cataleya Joan, Jaelynn. She was a lifelong member of the North Jackson United Methodist Church where she had served in many capacities and a 70 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Joan was a secretary in the Blue Ridge School District. She started in the New Milford building right after high school graduation and continued in the district for her entire working career. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and volunteering with Meals on Wheels plus transporting people to doctor appointments. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 11am at Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Avenue, Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 until 11am. Interment will be at the North Jackson Cemetery.
