Joan Marie Tully Of Thompson, PA On September 9, 2018, Joan Marie Tully joined her husband, Francis Xavier Tully, in Heaven. Born on August 14, 1931, she was the daughter of Burton and Florence Curtis in Thompson, Pa. In her youth she developed polio which helped to define her into the strong woman we remember. All through her life she would show the qualities of caring, commitment, and of course, love. One of her greatest joys was vacationing in the West with her family and friends. She was committed to raise money for her beloved Thompson Hose Company by working at chicken barbecues and at the weekly bingo games for thirty five years. She worked as the office manager for the family business until she was offered an opportunity with the USPS. She became the Postmaster of the Poyntelle Post Office until her retirement. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Kathy, her grandson, Ryan and his partner Katrina and children Jesse and Alexis. She is also survived by her sister Marian and her husband, Edward Hirko, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Burton "Sonny" Curtis and Darwin "Buster" Curtis and her sister Arlene Doyle. A private service will be held for family members. Donations to the Thompson Hose Company in Joan's memory in lieu of flowers would be graciously accepted.
