Joel David Rockwell
Of Susquehanna, PA
Joel Rockwell, 75, of Susquehanna, PA passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA.
Joel was predeceased by his parents Albert and Betty (Geer) Rockwell and his infant daughter Tiffany Cora Rockwell. Joel is survived by his wife Pamela Rockwell, children Scott & Ellen Rockwell, Chris & Melissa (Burish) Rockwell, Amanda & Nate Williams. (As well as Pam’s children: Jeff, Amy, Danny, and Mike) Joel is also survived by nine siblings as he was one of the original “Rockwell 10”, Terry & Wanda Rockwell, Ray & Carol Rockwell, Dale & Kelly Rockwell, Stan & Alice Rockwell, Aaron & Alyssa (Dooley) Rockwell, Kimberly Rockwell, Diane & Dan Botts, Poppy (Albert JR) Rockwell, Pat & Ron Barton. “Uncle Joe” was loved by countless nieces and nephews that he leaves behind.
Joel leaves a legacy behind in form of his grandchild, Adam Rockwell, Rachel Rockwell, Carson Williams, Tyler Rockwell, Caden Williams & Caliana Williams. His grandkids fondly referred to him as “Hoppin”. His Grandchildren were the light of his life and he could be often be found teary eyed, beaming with pride speaking of them. Let his kind heart live on in them. Joel grew up in Stevens Point Pennsylvania learning the ropes of farming and dirt road living. He graduated from Susquehanna Community High School and went on to join the United States Army. He served proudly in the Signal Corps specializing in cryptology. He continued his Electrical Engineering education at Broome Community College. Joel worked a 40-year career as a Hardware Test Engineer at Link (L3 Communications). Although his brilliant mind sent him around the world working on flight simulators, he was most at home on Rockwell Rd, in his 1953 ford or on his Harley. He could fix or build anything and could often be found tinkering in his garage and yes, the radio was on.
As a veteran Joel was a proud member of the American Legion Post 86 & The American Legion Riders. He was dedicated to serving the local veterans and the community alike.
Joel would have loved to stay with us longer but let's be honest he had “S**T to do...”
