John Joseph Carroll Jr., 71 of Deposit, NY passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Leslie Marie Carroll; parents John Joseph & Bella Carroll Sr.; and his brother Anthony DiCarluccio.

John is survived by his companion Patricia Ruggles; children John Carroll III, Andrew Carroll, Suzanne & Brent Bailey, and Anthony Carroll; and grandchildren Melanie Rapuzzi and Finley Sheret-Carroll.

John was born and raised in West Babylon, NY, an “infamous student” who graduated from West Babylon High School. After High School John married and began a family; soon after that he moved to Binghamton, NY and moved to Deposit, NY in 1984.  John was a self- taught local artist and an Exhibiting Member of Cooperative Gallery 213 in Binghamton, NY. He was also a musician and an accomplished Drummer. His love of the band “The Who” and drummer Keith Moon inspired him musically and made him an amazing drummer before beginning his family life. He attended many local festivals to share his paintings. He was an amazing and loving father who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 1pm at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 78 Second St. Deposit, NY 13754.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday from Noon to 1pm.
