John Walter Daly Of Susquehanna, Pa. John Walter Daly of Susquehanna, PA passed away April 17th at Binghamton General Hospital. He was 67. Jack was the beloved husband of Loretta Daly for 22 years. Born in Boston, MA July 17, 1946, he was the son of the late William A. and Elizabeth (Casey) Daly. His brother Kevin P. Daly, of Hackettstown, NJ preceded him in death in 1992. He is survived by his loving siblings William A. Daly of Hollywood, FL and Mary Beth Kisslinger of Spring Hill, FL, their spouses Sandra Daly and John Kisslinger, Kevin’s widow Shirley Janoski of Moneta, VA, nieces and nephews William Daly III and his wife Christina of Pembroke Pines, FL, Kristine Morsani and her husband Dennis of Sunrise FL, Melissa Daly of Pembroke Pines, FL, Erin Daly of Denville, NJ, Kate Daly of Roanoke, VA and Kevin Daly, Jr. of Roanoke, VA, four grand nieces and nephews and the many MA Daly cousins and their families and dear cousin Marge Murphy of Swarthmore, Pa. He is also survived by brothers-in-law Richard and George DelNobile, his wife Cathy of Dexter, NM, and niece Amber Brewton her husband Dewayne and children Aaron and Michael Rice, Kisa Jones and Shawn Brewton of Tucson, AZ. Jack graduated from Clifford Scott HS, East Orange, NJ and Montclair, State College, Montclair, NJ. He served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1967, trained at the US Navy Training Center, Great Lakes, ILL as a Seaman and served on a mine sweeper home ported in Buffalo, NY. He served the Township of West Orange, NJ as a Firefighter for 25 years, was a member of the Fireman’s Benevolent Association Local 228, the West Orange Knights of Columbus Council 5519, and the Archbishop Bayley Assembly 4th Degree 0660. After retiring to PA he transferred to Great Bend, K of C Council 356, and Assembly 4th Degree 1521. He was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, West Orange and St. John the Evangelist Church in Susquehanna and a staunch pro-life advocate. He enjoyed wood working and scroll sawing and took great pleasure creating a wide variety of wood Christmas gifts and décor and the rental of stork lawn birth announcements. He and his wife enjoyed travel and a wide variety of cuisine, and spent a great deal of quality time in hospitals. He was a lifelong enthusiast of racket sports, excelling at platform tennis, tennis and most especially table tennis, both as a player and as a coach. No one will forget his table tennis demonstrations played against a robot or footprints on the walls against live opponents, and his guiding young players to achieve in a sport he loved. In later years he introduced his wife to tennis and they could always be found glued to the television watching, and critiquing, all of the major tennis championships, round by round. Jack was a dear friend to many, unstinting of his time, humor, advice and offers of help. In his work with Habitat for Humanity, as well as countless repair and construction projects for friends and family, his love lives on in the physical world, as well as in our hearts. Masses offered for the repose of Jack's soul will be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends at Hennessey Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA on Thursday April 24 from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral Mass at St John the Evangelist Church will be celebrated on Friday April 25th at 10AM.Burial will be in the B. G. William C. Doyle VA Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. A memorial Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, West Orange, NJ on Monday April 28th at 11AM. A memorial Mass in the Extraordinary Form (Latin) at St Mary of the Assumption Church, Binghamton, NY will be held on Friday May 9th at 7pm. .
