John Fitzgerald Kamp

Of Deposit, NY

John F. Kamp, a devoted family man and respected entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at his family home in Deposit, New York. Born on October 1, 1964, in Sidney, NY, John lived a life marked by hard work, deep family connections, and a commitment to his community.

A graduate of the Deposit Central High School class of 1983, John’s early years were deeply influenced by his family and the traditions they held dear. After high school, he worked alongside his father at Indian Country Incorporated before embarking on his own business venture. John founded and operated Integrated Wood Components in Deposit, NY, a company he managed successfully until 2023. In addition to his entrepreneurial spirit, he shared a cherished partnership with his brother Gerard, planting and selling Christmas trees and making cider from their family home.

John’s personal life was enriched by his loving marriage to his high school sweetheart, Connie, whom he wed on May 6, 1989, at St. Joseph’s Church in Deposit. Their union of 36 years was a cornerstone of his life, and together they built a warm and nurturing home for their children. He was a proud father to Kaitlin E. Kamp and John Michael Kamp and a doting grandfather to Regan Rayne Kamp.

His sisters Frances White, Catherine Smith, Liana & James Westbrook, and Patricia & Michael Prezkop, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, remember John as a caring and supportive figure. He also held dearly the memories of his parents, Frank X. and Fannie E. Kamp, his brothers Thomas, Gerard, and Francis X. Kamp Jr., and his sister Theresa Meagley, who have all preceded him in death.

John treasured spending quality time with his family and was passionate about deep sea fishing. He fondly recalled a remarkable nine-month trip with his family as a child, as well as numerous travels with his loved ones later in life, experiences that brought him great joy and lasting memories.

Beyond his business accomplishments, John was an active member of the Deposit Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, where he contributed to the growth and vitality of his community. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to honor John's life at a visitation taking place on May 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 4:00 p.m. at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, located at 78 2nd Street, Deposit, NY 13754.
