John R. Stackowitz, Sr. Of Susquehanna, Pa. John R. Stackowitz, Sr., 75, of Susquehanna, Pa. passed away Friday January 16, 2015 at home after an illness. He was born in Susquehanna, Pa the son of the late Adolph & Victoria (Zoldac) Stachovich. John was predeceased by his loving wife Mary M. Stackowitz and sister Blanche Perry. John is survived by two sons John R. Stackowitz, Jr., Jerome T. Stackowitz, one daughter and son-in-law Jacqueline L. & Ellis Lair, one brother Eugene Stack, two Sisters Helen Schulman and Aida Schuler, one grandson Thomas M. Golka, several nieces, nephews and his cat Bert. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Susquehanna and a veteran of the United States Army. John retired from NYSEG after many years of service. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and loved his family who will miss him dearly. A mass of Cristian Burial will be offered on Tuesday January20th at 11am at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Susquehanna, PA with Rev. David Cramer officiating. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA on Monday from 4 to 7pm.
