Joseph Anthony Vietri
Of Susquehanna, PA
Joseph Anthony Vietri, born on June 2, 1938, in Middletown, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at Regional Hospital in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
He dedicated part of his working life as a Police Officer for the Navy at the NETC War College for 33 years, contributing to the safety and order of his workplace with honor and steadfastness. Following, Joseph continued his legacy of diligent work as a maintenance person for the Jamestown Housing Authority, always ensuring the wellbeing of those in his care. He also established and operated his own painting company.
Alongside his professional endeavors, Joseph pursued a number of personal passions that brought him great joy. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace and excitement in the outdoors. He was also known for raising pigeons, a unique interest that spoke to his patience and appreciation for nature’s wonders.
Joseph’s greatest source of happiness, however, was his large and loving family. He is survived by his daughters, LuAnn Kaiser, and Sue Brogan; his sons and daughter-in-law Joseph & Patti Vietri and John Vietri & Lani Vale-Cruz; his brothers, Fred Vietri and Thomas Vietri; his sisters, Grace Smith, Joann Godena, and Donna Vietri; his fifteen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
He was predeceased by his father Joseph Anthony Vietri and mother Virginia (Stappard) Marino; his devoted wife, Agnes Peterson Vietri; and sons-in-law, Gerard Kaiser and Daniel Brogan III.
