Juanita Burdick Of Lanesboro, PA   Juanita Anna Burdick, 98, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Barnes Kasson County Hospital SNF, Susquehanna, PA, where she had been a patient since 2009.  She was a former resident of Lanesboro, PA.  She was born in Brandt, PA, on October 20, 1913 the daughter of the late Edgar Allen and Ethel (Brooker) Monell. Juanita was married on June 9, 1934 to Lloyd M. Burdick of Stevens Point, PA, who preceded her in death in 1983.  She was also predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law; Marlene and Clark Filan, granddaughter Carrie Tsardakas, grandson Dustin Filan, sister Irene Tell and brothers Merritt and Clinton Monell. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Carlton and Donna Burdick of Kirkwood, NY, her sister Alice Angier of Lanesboro, PA, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Among her other jobs, Nita was employed as a cook at the old Barnes hospital in Susquehanna and as a desk clerk at the Arlington Hotel in Binghamton, NY.  Over many years, her cooking skills were put to great use in the wonderful meals that she prepared for her family, to whom she was devoted. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 12:00pm at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, PA with the Pastor Gary Day officiating. Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery, Lanesboro, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00am to 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susquehanna Fire Department Ambulance, PO Box 175, Susquehanna, PA  18847.
