Juanita M. Gray Of Zephyrhills, FL Juanita M (Tate) Gray, 80, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Susquehanna, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her loving husband Howard by her side, on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Tate was born on November 25, 1938 in Glenwood, PA to parents Clifford (Pete) and Maryellen Compton. She was predeceased by her parents, former husband James Sherman, Sr, sister Mae Eckhart, brother Gary Compton, and grandson Brian Sherman. She retired from a career, which she took great pride in, with Susquehanna County Transportation. Tate loved doing crafts, which included ceramics and making needlepoint cards. After retirement Tate and Howard traveled with their camper to Arizona, Mexico, Texas, and Florida. Tate and Howard decided to buy a winter home in Zephyrhills and spend their summers in their home in Susquehanna. In March of 2012, Tate suffered a stroke while in Florida that left her unable to travel back and forth from Zephyrhills to Susquehanna. She was able to return to Pennsylvania in October of 2017 and spend a few weeks with family, for this the family will always be grateful. Tate will be lovingly remembered by her husband Howard Gray, Sr of Zephyrhills, FL, sons James (Bonnie) Sherman, Jr of Freeville, NY, Richard Sherman of Susquehanna, PA and Howard (Kathy) Gray, Jr daughters Amy (Jeffrey) Lesek of Honesdale, PA, Neen (Bob) Bracey, and Susan Conway, grandchildren Jennifer Sherman, Rachael (Toby) Baker, Holly Sherman, Jeffrey Sherman, Kaci Sherman, Katelyn Sherman, and Jami Lesek, greatgrandchildren Michael Hilkert, Kerrin Groover, Chandler and Madalynn Baker, and Emeri Mauldin. She is also leaves behind siblings Raymond (Tina), Arthur (Gerry), David (Sandy), KaSandra, Christopher, and Lynn Compton and Cindy Buono, many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday September 29, 2018 at 1pm at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, with Pastor Kevin Setzer officiating. Interment will be held in the Clifford Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 11am to 1pm on Saturday September 29, 2018.
