Justin Dean Lee, also known as PapaBear, of the greater Binghamton and Susquehanna areas, passed away suddenly on Saturday August 4,2018, at the young age of 32. Justin was born on Christmas Day of 1985 at Barnes Kasson hospital in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. Anyone who knew Justin, knew that he always made an entrance, and it was no different the day he came into this world. Justin wasn’t you “average” person. He had a way about him that could bring light to the darkest room. Justin had a knack for knowing just what to say to raise someone’s spirits quickly, or as he would say, “with the quickness.” He could make literally anyone he met laugh. His laughter, much like him was big and boisterous, it was raspy and rough around the edges, and it was enormously contagious. Justin could make a room full of people laugh even if they didn’t know the reason. He brought so much joy to everyone who had the pleasure to know him. There were few moments when just was not belting out one of the thousands of songs he knew, reciting a movie quote, or just making noises to keep people smiling. Music and movies were a huge part of Justin’s life. They had a hold of his heart and he loved sharing them with everyone he met. Justin also had a passionate love for horses. He had a calmness and steadiness with horses that drew them towards him. He made horses feel safe and secure when they were with him. He used to help out on farms and would watch nearly any movie with a horse in it. Some of his favorite movies were Wild Hearts Can’t be Broken and Secretariat. Justin did not just make horses feel safe, he made everyone feel safe when he was around. Justin had this hug, this whole body, wrap his big arms around you, squeeze you so tight, and make you feel like nothing could get you down, hug! His hug was iconic. Something that everyone he knew mentioned about him, and something that will forever be missed, but never forgotten. Justin loved to cook and developed many special relationships with everyone he worked with, he built himself work families that carried into his actual family at places like OCB, Ground Round, and Irish Kevin’s to name a few. He cherished his time with all of you. Justin made the world a better place, even though he was the most stubborn and bullheaded person you’d ever met at times. His sense of humor, spunk, charismatic attitude and love for life will forever be remembered. He was taken from us too soon. Justin will forever be in our hearts. Justin is survived by his mom, Julie E Lee, known by Justin as Momma Llama, his brother, William R. Lee, known by Justin as, Brother Bear, his sister, Leslie A. Estabrook-Pokrifka, known by Justin as Boo-Boo, his best friends Jesse Stark and Beth Bromsey, his grandmother, Ann Marie Lee, his grandfather, William F. Lee, his niece Madison Noel, and his nephew, Mason Benjamin. Justin was also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Memorial Service to celebrate Justin’s life will be held in Justin’s honor on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Schnurbusch Park in Conklin at Pavilion 1, beginning at 1:00pm and continuing through to the evening. Justin’s mom is asking that those who come bring their favorite picture of Justin if they have one, and a song title that you shared with Justin to be played for him at the memorial. Justin’s mom is also asking for everyone who comes to wear green to represent Justin’s favorite color.
