Kathleen DellaValle, 67, of Susquehanna, PA passed away after a courageous battle with Stage IV Colon Cancer on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Barnes Kasson Hospital, in Susquehanna.

She was predeceased by her parents John & Rita O’Brien; brother Robert O’Brien; sister-in-law Diane O’Brien.

Kathleen is survived by her loving husband of 44 years James DellaValle;  four daughters and sons-in-law, Diane DellaValle & Sean Schell, Andrea DellaValle & Jerry Pudusseri; Michele DellaValle & fiancé John Biondo; and Kathleen & Kevin Grausgruber; 9 grandchildren, Julia Schell, Madeline Schell, Cooper Biondo, Matthew Schell, Samantha Schell, Jesse DellaValle-Schell, James Grausgruber, Gena Grausgruber, and Lucas Grausgruber; brothers and sister-in-law John & Kathi O’Brien, and Thomas O’Brien; sister-in-law Marie DellaValle & Frank Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen graduated from Nursing School in Philadelphia, PA in 1976. Her professional interests were psychiatric and geriatric nursing, she was a wonderful advocate for her patients. She will be respected and remembered by Hands Together organization, where she volunteered her time in Haiti caring for those in need. Kathleen enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and had many hobbies, including bird watching, sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She was a very talented artist and an amazing cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren- and loved being a “mema.” Kathleen had a unique sense of humor to the very end, which her family and friends will cherish forever and continue to laugh. She had a generous, loving heart that will be missed by all.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire second-floor nursing staff at Barnes Kasson Hospital, Melanie Lee of the Family Health Clinic at Barnes Kasson Hospital, and Dr.’s P. and B. Patel, who were especially kind, caring, and compassionate during this stressful time. Also, thank you to all of the special people who visited, called, sent cards, or were thinking of Kathleen during her illness.
