Kathryn (Merritt) Pacifici, age 89, of Susquehanna, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Barnes Kasson SNF surrounded by her family. Kathryn was born October 15, 1933, daughter of the late Arthur and Dulces Merritt. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Pacifici, her son Vincent A. Pacifici, her brother Arthur Merritt and sister JoAnn Barnes.

She is survived by 3 daughters and sons in laws; Gwen and Edward Chianese, Carol and Fred Jackson, Judy and Vince Roth and a son David Pacifici. Her grandchildren Liza (Chianese) Dooley, Nicole (Chianese) and Bryan Arnold, Jessica (Visser) and Shannon Stiff, Catella Visser and Hugean Greer, David Jackson, Brianna Roth and Patrick Salamon, Lexie (Roth) and Tim Daley, Ryan and Lucy Pacifici, Cassie (Pacifici) and Jack Halpin. Her great grandchildren, Kerstin and Liam Dooley, Cayden and Makenna Arnold, Cian and Cordelia Stiff, Azarea Visser, Hugean and Abigail Greer. Her sister Carol Barnes, and several nieces and nephews.

Kay graduated from Laurel Hill Academy Class of 1952. She married Vincent in 1954. She worked for Susquehanna Community School District for 20 years until retirement, as Director of Food Service in 1995. Kay was a member of St. John’s Church, Altar and Rosary, Catholic Daughters and St. John’s Womens Club. She was a member of the choir, a lector, and organized a children’s choir. Kay also started a “Peppy” class at Turnpike Terrace for the residents there.

She enjoyed singing, gardening, sewing, vacations with the children and grandchildren and spending time with her longtime companion dog, “Bill”. She had dinner every Friday and Sunday for the family. These meals were the highlight of her life.

The funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 9:30am at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna and 10am at the St. John’s Church, Susquehanna where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Charles Connor. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from 4 to 7pm.
