Laurel Ann was born in Susquehanna, PA and lived the majority of her early life there before coming to Fort Worth, TX where she remained for the rest of her time. She graduated from Susquehanna Community High School, attended Keystone Jr. College for her associate’s degree, and the University of Scranton for her Bachelor’s degree. Laurel worked at Don’s Auto Parts, Binghamton, NY, for her first official job, where she made many lifelong connections. Laurel then worked for L3 Link Simulation & Training in Binghamton, NY and later was transferred to Fort Worth, TX. Her lifetime career with this one company spanned from 1995-2023. During this time, she was the head communications manager where she supported many defense efforts of the most advanced training systems in the world. Laurel was also the head photographer for the company. Whenever she could, Laurel would generously support the Mission Arlington, a non-profit to support the city that she loves. Laurel was also an avid traveler and loved going to a wide variety of places for work. She loved to go antiquing to decorate her home and would tan whenever she had the chance to. She would also rescue absolutely any animal in need and would give them a life full of love and care. However, most of all, Laurel loved living her life to the absolute fullest and loved her family dearly.
Laurel leaves behind her husband John Carroll, who for over 39 years was the epic love of her life. Laurel actually picked out her future husband John at a Halloween party and they were inseparable ever since. She also leaves behind her daughter, Rauri Lynn Carroll, of Fort Worth, TX, whom she loved with all her heart. Laurel leaves behind her mother Carolyn Gow of Susquehanna, PA. and her baby brother Gerald Gow Jr. along with his wife Jacqueline of Lanesboro, PA. Laurel is survived by her sister-in-law Cindi (Ed) Pailonis of Windsor, NY, along with numerous nieces and nephews which she all loved dearly.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 1 PM – 3 PM at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA. The family will be holding a celebration of Laurel's life after the visitation at the Pailonis Home in Windsor, NY.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held Monday, July 27, 2026, at 10 AM at St. John’s Church in Susquehanna, PA.
Interment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA, on July 27, 2026.
We thank God for the gift of Laurel's life and the blessing of the time we all had to share and spend with her. While she is no longer with us, Laurel will never ever be forgotten. The family asks everyone to share a cold Coors Light in her honor.
