Lorenzo John Delarco Of Spring Hill, Florida Lorenzo John DeLarco, 88, Spring Hill, FL passed away Saturday February 1, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Fern and their children; Diane(John) Dunn of Susquehanna, PA, Darlene (Nile) Evans of N. Ft. Myers, Larry of Crystal River and Roger of East Stroudsburg, PA; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the child of 6 born to Fulvia (Terenzi) and Pietro DeLarco. He is survived by his sister, Louise of Binghamton, NY and 6 nieces and nephews. Chutz as he was known by his friends was born and raised in Susquehanna. He was 17 when he left high school early to join his 2 brothers fighting for our country in WW II. From 1941-46 he was a Navy Motor Machinist and participated in the Battle of the Bulge and received a battle star for the invasion of Normandy Beach in France. He later returned to finish high school and meet his future wife. He then started his career for the Erie Railroad before retiring as a Signalman with over 40 years of service at Conrail. Chutz was active in many professional and community civic groups. At St. John’s High School (Laurel Hill Academy), he served as PTA president and basketball coach. He was most proud of his team’s 1964-65 undefeated season. He was very active in the Moose Lodge 794 and he reached the highest levels in the national organization (Deputy Supreme Governor and Pilgrim Degree). Chutz and Fern had many friends and were known for their colorful parties. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 24th at 11am at the St. John's Church in Susquehanna with Rev. David Cramer officiating. Buiral will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Susquehanna. The family will recive friends at the Hennessey's Funeral Home on Saturday May 24th from 10am to 11am. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but will live on in their hearts and memories. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous.
