Lucien Joel passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at his home in Deposit, NY. He was born October 5, 1940 in Antwerp Belgium to the late Marcel Joel and Alida (Desmet) Joel.
Lucien married Carol Briggs on July 30, 1966, in Deposit, NY. He was predeceased by his son Dan Joel and his granddaughter Meaghan Joel. Lucien is survived by his wife, Carol Joel, their daughter, Diane (Joel) Kradel, daughter-in-law, Ronda (Elom) Joel, grandchildren: William Kradel, Joseph Kradel, Heather (Kradel) Kazmark, and step granddaughter Naida Barnes, a sister Mariette (Van Becelaere) Joel, several nieces and nephews, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his siter Cecile (Joel) Faes and brothers-in-law Robert Faes and Jean Van Becelaere.
Lucien had been a devout minister of Jehovah's Witnesses since his baptism in 1971. He also enjoyed extensive travel as a musician with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra. In his free time he loved hiking and good food.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 2 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 2484 Old Route 17, Windsor, NY 13865. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
