Margie L. Warner, 104, born on June 11, 1921, in Deposit, NY, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the United Methodist Homes, Elizabeth Church Manor, Binghamton, NY. She was a beloved member of her community, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering willingness to help those in need.

Margie enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, dedicating herself to her work at the Town Crier, and later, alongside her husband, managing the family dairy farm. Her resilience and dedication to her family and community were hallmarks of her character. She took immense pride in her role as a choir director at First United Methodist Church in Deposit for more than 50 years, a position she held with both passion and commitment. Margie was also a charter member of the Eastern Star in Deposit and served on the Delaware County Election Board, contributing significantly to her community.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Margie had many interests that brought joy to her life. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano, showcasing her musical talents frequently. A skilled seamstress, she found joy in sewing and knitting, often sharing her creations with loved ones. Some of her most cherished moments were spent at the lake with her grandchildren, where she fostered lasting memories and connections. Margie also embraced diversity by hosting foreign exchange students, enriching her family’s life and community ties.

Her compassionate nature extended to her home, as she took in many individuals over the years, providing love and support to all who crossed her threshold. Margie’s legacy is reflected in the numerous lives she touched throughout her years.

She is survived by her son, Clayton Warner Jr.; daughter, Ann Schambach; daughter-in-law, Iris Warner; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Daisy Smith; her husband, Clayton Warner Sr.; daughter Lizbeth Warner; son Dennis Warner; grandson Clayton Warner III; grandson Jay Warner; granddaughter Beth Decker; as well as Tom Hauber, Ford Walley, Art Butler, and Sunil Saigal, who she cared for as her own.

Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church, located at 107 Second Street, Deposit, NY, 13754, on March 7, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 PM. Margie's spirit will continue to be cherished by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
