Marguerite Mary Murphy (September 14, 1918 – November 25, 2012) Marguerite Murphy, former resident of Susquehanna, PA, passed away quietly on Sunday, November 25, at Heritage Harbor Rehabilitation Center in Annapolis, MD. Marguerite had moved to Annapolis in June 1997 with her sister Kathleen LeStrange to live with her nephew Joseph LeStrange and his family. She is survived by her Sister Kathleen LeStrange, Annapolis, MD, nephews Joseph LeStrange(Linda), and Thomas LeStrange(Pauline) of Conklin, NY, great nieces Amanda Shope, Andrea LeStrange, Kelly Jones, and great nephew Patrick LeStrange. Marguerite was a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy class of 1936 and was employed by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) from 1948 until her retirement in 1990, a career spanning 42 years. She was very active in the Susquehanna community and St. John Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, The Altar and Rosary Society, The American Legion Auxiliary, and a Gold Circle Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. After her retirement she spent time at The Village of the Four Seasons where she was very active socially making many friends from all parts of Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. She became very interested in arts and crafts and spent many hours creating green ware ceramics for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and the communities of Susquehanna and Annapolis, Md. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00a.m. by the Rev. David Cramer at St. John Roman Catholic Church, Susquehanna, PA. The burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Susquehanna. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey Funeral Home 747 Jackson Avenue. Susquehanna, PA. on Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
