Marian “Jean” Stanton, 94, of Binghamton, NY, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024, at United Methodist Homes in Johnson City, NY.

She was predeceased by her loving son James K. Stanton; husband Kenneth Stanton; parents Stratford & Edith (Gifford) VanValkenburg; brothers and sisters-in-law Theron & Rose VanValkenburg, Mike & Harriet VanValkenburg, Pat & Elizabeth VanValkenburg, and Bob & Mary VanValkenburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth & Marvin Stoutenberg and Doris & Boni Beilby; nephew Bruce VanValkenburg.

Jean is survived by several caring nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jean attended a one room school in the Whitman District, Masonville, NY and Sidney Central School. She was employed at Shupe Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and GMC, in Afton for 47 and half years.

At Jean’s request there will be no services; she will be interred in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit, NY.
