Marilyn Hand

Of Susquehanna, PA

Marilyn Helen (Dillman) Hand 89, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, in Mercy House in Endicott.  She was born in Shenandoah, PA on March 17, 1934, and was raised by her paternal grandparents.  She is predeceased by her loving husband and soulmate Bill to whom she was married to for 71 years, her grandparents, parents and two grandchildren, Aaron Sellitto and Nicholas Hand.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Michael Sellitto of Port Crane, NY, Jennifer and Alan Beavan of Nazareth, PA, and a son, Daniel Hand of New Bern, NC.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Diane, Amanda (Keith), Samantha (Nicholas), Jeff (Shannon), Stephen, Alexandra, and Brittany (Tommy).  Also, great grandchildren Stephanie, Sawyer, Cain, Layla, Xander, Hudson, Levi and River.

Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  There was nothing more important to Marilyn than her family.  She was always proud of her 3 children and their accomplishments.  As the grandkids and great grandkids came, her table grew.  She always knew what each child was involved in and never forgot to call to catch up.  Her love for family carried through each one of her children.  No matter what---you were always her “favorite”.

Marilyn graduated from Coal Township High School and began working at Bell Telephone Company in Harrisburg as a stenographer.  She was a stay-at-home mom for many years and later worked as a legal secretary.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Susquehanna, PA and a 50-plus year member of Gill Chapter No. 12, Order of the Eastern Star.  Through the years she was a willing worker and volunteer for many community and church activities.

Marilyn always said, “If I had my life to live over, I would not change a thing.  I have been truly blessed, especially with my family.”
