Marvin B. Schloss, of Deposit, NY, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at his home in the Town of Deposit.

He was predeceased by his parents Marvin and Myrtle Schloss and stepfather Earl Jones; and beloved wife Barbara J. (Bennett) Schloss.

Marvin is survived by his son Matt & Anne Schloss; daughter Amy (Brian); stepson Donald Bennett; grandchildren Skyler, Madison, Mark, Megan, and Hunter; siblings Sandra Tuttle, Sharon Zandt, Roxann & Leon Decker, and Libby & Dan Graves; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marvin was born in Walton, NY, and raised in Granton, NY and Cannonsville, NY. He graduated from Deposit Central High School. Following graduation he served in the United States Army. When Marvin returned from the military he ran the family farm in Deposit, NY. He also drove truck for many years until his retirement last summer. Marvin was a member of the Deposit Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Marvin spent most of his time on the family farm and tending to the needs of his animals. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and husband who will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends at Hennessey’s Funeral Home on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 1pm to 3pm.

Following the visitation there will be a graveside service at Hambletville Cemetery, in Deposit, NY.
