Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Kane Of Susquehanna, PA Betty Kane, 92 of West Main St. Susquehanna, PA passed away of natural causes on Wednesday May 13, 2020 at the Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Cecelia (Dunlea) Tuskey; her Aunt & Uncle Charles & Mary Smith (who raised Betty after her mother perished in the Erie train wreck in Binghamton, NY in 1933.); and her brother Arthur Tuskey. Betty is survived by her loving husband Jack Kane of 67 years; children Rebecca & Brian Lewis and Christopher & Kelli Kane; grandchildren Felicia & Drew Aldinger, Gina and Josh Dibble, Benedict Kane and Matthew Kane; great grandchildren, Ezra, Talea, and Roczen Dibble; step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was the last living survivor of the 1933 Erie Wreck in Binghamton, NY that killed 13 other passengers from Susquehanna, PA. She was a graduate of Laurel Hill academy in 1947. She worked at the Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna PA, for several years. Betty was a member of the St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church in Susquehanna, PA; where she was the organist for many years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic restrictions there will be no public services at this point in time. A private interment and committal service will be held in the St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s the Evangelist, 18 E Church Street Susquehanna, PA 18847 and Barnes Kasson Hospital, 2872 Turnpike St, Susquehanna, PA 18847. The family would like to extend a thank you to the Barnes Kasson Doctors and staff for their excellent care of Betty.
