  Mary Connelly McCormickOf Susquehanna, PA Mary Connelly McCormick, 95, died peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2013 with her granddaughter at her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Patrick and Gertrude Connelly, her husband and soul-mate, Paul McCormick, March 16, 2007, and her only son, Patrick McCormick, March 15, 1997. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Terry Ann McCormick, her grandchildren, Todd McCormick and Dan and Tracey (McCormick) Buckley, as well as great-grandchildren Sydney and Alexis Buckley. Mary taught in the Blue Ridge School District for 35 years, and spoke of those years fondly. After retirement, Mary and Paul spent many years traveling with friends, enjoying their family, playing cards with friends, dancing, and volunteering. Mary was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, the St. John’s Church in Susquehanna, PA, and the Alter and Rosary Society. She was an amazing woman that had a tremendous faith in God, an abundance of strength and class, and always an extra chair at her dining room table. We will miss her and are so thankful for the time we had. We would like to thank the nurses and staff at Ideal Senior Living for their kindness, care, and support during Mary’s last years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the St. John’s Church in Susquehanna, PA, on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 11am. Burial will be held in the St. John’s Cemetery, in Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 10 to 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, or the St. John’s Church, Susquehanna, PA.
