Mary Grace Wright, 94, of Deposit, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Cortland Park Nursing Home.

She was born on December 28, 1928, daughter of the late Byron & Mary J. Martin (Hanrahan).

Mary grew up in Gulf Summit. After school she worked at Oquaga Lake. After Marrying her husband Harold in 1947 she was a homemaker to her 4 children until her and Harold started their own business, Wrights Sanitation in 1968. She took care of the business part of it and even drove the trucks. Mary loved family get togethers. She loved playing cards. Everyone that walked through her door knew they better have quarters because they knew they were going to play cards. She enjoyed shopping, sudoku books, and watching game shows. She brought joy to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sisters, Agnes Farmer and Joan Howe; brother George Martin; children Alice Torbitt, Joyce Emswiler, Steve (Becky) Wright, Harold Jr. (Donna) Wright; grandchildren Chris Torbitt, Kelly (Roger) Ellsworth, Paul (Toni) Shaver, Vincent (Linda) Shaver, Brad (Katie) Shaver, Jeremy (Brittney) Wright and 20 great grandchildren.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Harold Wright Sr.; brothers Robert Martin and John Martin; sons-in-law Raymond Torbitt and Bob Emswiler; granddaughter-in-law Trish Torbitt (Buttacavoli).

Services will be handled privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601), in her name.
