Michael (Mikey) Louis Vaccaro Of Susquehanna, Pa. Michael (Mikey) Louis Vaccaro, 79, of Susquehanna, PA passed away Tuesday August 5th, 2015 peacefully at his home in Susquehanna. Born in Susquehanna, PA on May 15, 1936, Mikey was the son of Salvatore and Angela (Angie) Vaccaro. Mikey graduated from Laurel Hill Academy and then served as a Clerk in the United States Army. Upon leaving the Army, he joined the D&H railroad as a trainman/brakeman. Mikey was a long time member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion organizations, as well as a member of the United Transportation Union. Mikey was one of the founding members of the Winding River Sportsman’s Club, an avid hunter and fisherman. He passed his love of hunting on to two of his grandsons who spent the last 5 years hunting deer with him every fall. Mikey was preceded by his father Salvatore Vaccaro and his mother Angela (Bucci) Vaccaro. Mikey is survived by his wife Cecelia K. (Donnelly) Vaccaro, his sister Lucy (Vaccaro) Jackson, Binghamton, NY and his three children Mary K (Vaccaro) Fisk and husband Leo, Anthony Vaccaro and his wife Angel, and Theresa (Vaccaro) Spehar and her husband Richard and seven grandchildren Kaitlyn Spehar, Jonathan Spehar, Nicholas Spehar, Courtney Vaccaro, Michael Vaccaro, Ashley Vaccaro and Paiton Vaccaro, who were a large part of his life. Mikey also is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held on Saturday August 8, 2015, at 10am at the St. John’s Church in Susquehanna where a mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. David Cramer. Burial will be held in the St. John’s Cemetery in Susquehanna. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave Susquehanna on Friday from 5 to 8pm.
