Michael E. Zeck Of Jackson, PA Michael E. Zeck, 58 of Jackson, PA passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Mike was predeceased by his parents William J. & Yvonne M. Zeck and sister Jean Tingley. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Ruth (Murphy) Zeck; daughters Michala Marie Zeck and Christine Elyse Zeck; brothers William Zeck Jr., Danny Cullen, and James Zeck; sisters Colleen & George Wilkes, Patricia Cullen, Kelly & David Laughlin, Michele Zeck; and his beloved dog Chief. Mike also had many brothers and sisters-in-law aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mike was raised in Lanesboro, PA and graduated from Susquehanna Community High School. During school he worked with his dad as a baker in the triple cities and continued throughout his life working at both Price Chopper and Wegmans from where he retired. He also spent many years doing barn demolition and salvation. Mike’s hobbies included cooking, baking for his family and friends and salmon fishing in Pulaski, NY. He was a lifetime member of the Thompson Hose Company; where he volunteered as much time as he had possible. Firefighting was Mike’s true passion; he earned his National Fire Fighter certification by completing both Fire Fighter I & II. His other passion was playing the drums for his family and friends. Mike also enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his loving family and friends who will miss him dearly. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you, to the Thompson Hose Company for all of their support, and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:30am at Thompson United Methodist Church, 586 Main St. Thompson, PA, with a luncheon to follow at the Thompson Hose Company, 53 Water St. Thompson, PA. The family will receive friends at the Thompson Hose Company; on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 9 to 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thompson Hose Company, PO Box 419, Thompson, PA 18465.
