The Candy Store
I watch the blood drip down my arm as the tears flow down my face. I’m trapped between the present and the past I can’t replace. I am broken and tired and I don’t know where to turn. I’ve been loose and reckless walking on the bridges that I’ve burned. I don’t want to return the needle and the Cap. I know that road well, I know it’s a trap. 20 years I’ve spent walking that road of shame by the time I reach the end I’d lost the game. Bars on the windows and bars on the doors. I am now paying the price for my life before. Back when I used to run the candy store. A one stop shop from a gram to a ball any drug you want I had it all. I take your money and ignore your pain as I said with a smile, come back again! When your money was gone I’d buy your soul after all I had to pay the devil his toll. Years I spent dealing misery and death to unsuspecting teens. All they had to see was the drugs in my hand to make their eyes gleam. They never thought about what they’d do when the money runs dry, when they’re sick and can’t move or do anything but cry. Begging him pleading for just one more…The devil whispers in my ear, time to open the store…as I hand them bags I wish they’d see, nothing in life is ever free. They just sold their soul for their last shot….The Devils waitin on the other side all fiery and hot. They push in the plunger and take their last ride one that leads right to the other side. So please remember my story when you just want one more….you know what can happen at the candy store…
