Nelda Irene Tyler Leonard Of Jackson, PA Nelda Irene Tyler Leonard, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday evening, February 19th, 2016, after having been lovingly cared for the past few months at the Skilled Nursing Facility of Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA. She was born to the late Gerald and Helen Tyler (MacConnell) on April 29, 1932 in New Milford, PA. Nelda grew up with and is survived by 4 sisters; Avis Morgan, Anita Millard (and Bill), Ethel Ferenczi, Ruth Page Gallagher, and 1 brother, William Tyler (and Dorothy). She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Lyle Leonard of Jackson, PA, and their family of 4 children; Brenda and Bob Levis of North Hampton, NH., Lanny and Joanna Leonard of Ormond Beach, FL., Analise and Dr. Scott Farrell of Vestal, NY., and Lynel and Lance Harding of Boston, MA. Her 7 grandchildren, Tyler Levis, Alyssa Levis (fiancé Chris Wood), Whitney (Levis) and Grayson Shephard, Kyle and Karson Leonard, and Brendan and Meghan Farrell, are also blessed with wonderful memories. Nelda will be remembered for the selfless ways she served her Lord. A leader in her church in many areas, she will especially be remembered for her heart’s passion of piano playing and singing. In the community she served as a Child Evangelism Fellowship leader teaching Release Time after school programs and Good News Camps for more than 30 years. Her worldwide ministry included accompanying her husband Lyle, on mission trips throughout Belize, Liberia, Senegal, New Guinea and Vanuata, as well as various mission opportunities in the US. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay and her car drove anyone who needed a ride to wherever they needed to go. There was no mistaking her strong faith in Christ and desire to lend a hand. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, March 12th from 10 to 12am at the South New Milford Baptist Church, 2967 Harford Rd. New Milford, PA.
