Olive Elizabeth MarionOf Thompson, PA   Olive E. Marion, 87, of Jackson St. Thompson, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 12, 2015, at her home. Olive was born in South New Jersey the daughter of the John H. and Sarah Barrett. She was predeceased by her daughter Karen Swiers; five brothers Jack, Bill, Phillip, Ray and Ralph Barrett; and two sisters Josephine Hansen and Joyce Dorman. Olive was survived by her three sons and two daughter-in-laws, Peter M. and Arlene Marion of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, William W. Marion, of Thompson, PA, and James A. and Wendy Marion Sr. of Thompson, PA; three brothers Robert, Kenneth and Charles Barrett; sister Joan Lis; six grandchildren Raymond Marion, Jennifer Marion, Susan Maxted, David Maxted, Lucas Marion, and James A. Marion Jr.; five great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Olive was born in South New Jersey and then moved to North Bloomingdale, New Jersey where she graduated from Butler High School. She was married at the age of 18 and raised and supported her 4 children. Olive spent 26 years working for the Bloomingdale Postal Service until her retirement. After her retirement she moved to Thompson, PA where she resided until her passing. She loved gardening, her cats, and most of all she loved to spend time with her family. Olive was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. A memorial service in her honor will be held at a later date of which her family will be notified.
