Philip D. MacDonald Of Susquehanna, PA Philip Dale MacDonald, 80, of Susquehanna Pa, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Barnes Kasson Hospital. Born on September 27, 1938 in Sidney NY. Phil was a life-long resident of the Susquehanna area. He served in the US Army for 20 years and then a police officer in Susquehanna where he grew up. Son of the late James MacDonald and Cora Belle Carvin MacDonald, Phil is survived by his life partner Rose Marie May of 30 years, his 2 sisters, Jean Lowden and her husband Gilbert of Alabama, and Cindy Carvin from Dickson City, Pa, his 2 daughters, Catherine and Christine MacDonald of Seneca NY. Also, Beth a stepdaughter that always remained by his side. Phil also has predeceased siblings, a sister, Marian Galloway, and two brothers, Richard and Peter MacDonald. Phil worked for the Susquehanna PD and then upon his retirement, worked security in the Susquehanna Community High School for many years. Phil was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting as well, but no one meant more to Phil than his family. He so loved his dogs and his cat as part of his family. Phil was very close to his extended family as well, Robyn Welch, Emily Stark and Rene Fisk, who took Phil into their home and cared for him around the clock for months while waiting for appropriate medical placement. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that contributions be made directly in Phil’s name to Hennessey’s Funeral Home, located at 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna 18847.
