Phyllis Ann Schiippel

Phyllis Ann Schiippel of New Milford, PA Phyllis Ann (Trask) Schiippel, 85 of New Milford, PA formerly of Walton, NY, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at home on July 30, 2021 after a long period of physical decline due to Alzheimer’s. Phyllis was born June, 1936 in Walton NY. She married her husband, Heinz, on April 10, 1965 at the Readburn Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Heinz Schiippel; parents; Leon & Ruth (Perkins) Trask; and brother Leon “Sonny” Trask. Phyllis is survived by her children Richard Schiippel of Walton NY; and Heidi & Rev. Mark Stento of New Milford PA; grandchildren, Alexander, Derek, and Rachel Stento; sister Linda Trask; sister-in-law Gertrude Trask; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Phyllis was a graduate of Hancock Central School 1953 and Edinburgh University in 1957 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She was a kindergarten teacher for several years. She was also a proof-reader for the Walton Reporter. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved reading, writing, hunting, gardening, and researching her family genealogy and helping on the family farms. She was a long-time member of the Pines Brook Baptist church and, later a member of the South New Milford Baptist church. Arrangements were handled by Hennessey’s Funeral Home, Inc. Susquehanna, PA. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Revolutionary Hospice for their excellent care of Phyllis. A Graveside Service will be held in the Walton Cemetery, Walton, NY at a later date.
