Rita Hillis Of Susquehanna, PA     Rita Hillis, 94 of Susquehanna Pennsylvania formerly of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018.  She was predeceased by her parents Catherine Mullen Hillis and Lee Hillis, sisters Lorraine and Ivan Pickering,  Patricia (Patsy) and Glenn Tarbox, brother Frederick (Fritz) and Patty Hillis, brother-in-law Edward Wood, nephews, Mark Tarbox, Michael Tarbox, Marty Wood and Jeff Boughton.  She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Wood, nieces, Nancy Boughton and Diane (Arnold) Terpstra.  She is also survived by nephews, Tim Hillis, Chris (Cindy) Hillis, Tom (Karen) Hillis, Dave (Cheryl) Tarbox, Jim Tarbox, Matt (Karen) Tarbox, John Tarbox, nieces, Jill Hillis, Pamela Shirley, Lisa (Tom) Koltz, and many great nieces and nephews.   Rita served in the United States Navy and is a life time member of the Waves. She worked for many years at Sperry Corporation, New York, NY and Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, New Jersey before her retirement. In 1953 she was a Christmas Gimbelite at Gimble Brothers in New York City.  She also donated many hours to different charitable organizations.  Rita enjoyed traveling, walking, loved animals and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed by her family.  The family would like to thank all of the staff at Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility for the care given to her during her time at SNF.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 8, 2018 at 11am at St. John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Susquehanna, PA with Rev. David Cramer officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeview, PA. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA on Saturday from 10-11am. Memorial contributions may be made to True Friends Animal Welfare, 16332 PA-706, Montrose, PA 18801.
