Robert “Buzz” David Aldrich, age 86 of Susquehanna PA passed away peacefully at Barnes Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

He was born on September 18, 1937, in Binghamton, NY and is predeceased by his parents, Sidney and Doris Aldrich, his wife of 57 years Freida Aldrich, son Robert David Aldrich Jr. and grandson Henry Ainey. Also predeceased are his brothers Glen Aldrich, Jim Aldrich, John Aldrich and Tom Aldrich.

He is survived by his son Leonard (Michelle) Aldrich and his daughter Loretta (Dan) Ainey. Five grandchildren, Ashley (Robert) Opolsky, Kimberly (Costin) Pallach, Fred (Cheyanne) Ainey Jr., Ava Houck and Eva Houck. Eight great-grandchildren, Vivian, Landyn, Evelette, Annaleise, Niko, Maisie, Ila and Costin Jr. as well as two sisters Gail Bodnar and Jean Merrill along with multiple nieces and nephews.

Buzz loved tinkering with small engines and machines. He was a skilled craftsman with a mechanical mind. He had been retired for many years, previously working as a carpenter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. His pride for family was evident in his smile while he reminisced telling stories of his siblings, his children and grandchildren who he loved dearly. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and eating hot dogs. His sense of humor will truly be missed.

The family will hold a private memorial in his honor.
