Roger N. Getter Of Susquehanna, PA   Roger N. Getter, 79, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at the Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA. Roger was born in Deposit, NY, on February 17, 1936 the son of the late Leon and Dagmar (Nelson) Getter. He was predeceased by his brother Leonard; brother-in-laws Gary Williams, Philip Medlar and Robert Hayden; mother and father in-law, Frederick and Nellie Medlar. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Naomi Medlar Getter; devoted son Christopher Roger Getter; grandchildren Shane Getter, Ryan Getter, Jennifer Getter, Bryan Getter, Storm Wood, Corey and Elizabeth Wood and Ashlee Getter; great granddaughters Alexis and Kaylah; sister Nancy Hayden; brother Leon and Raelene Getter; in-laws Joyce Troup, Linda Medlar, Gale and Thomas Reddon, Larry and Sandra Medlar and David and Diane Medlar; many special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roger graduated from Oakland High School in 1953 having grown up in Oakland. He was employed for many years at Haley’s Market and then Rob’s Market in Great Bend, PA until his retirement. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Also, he loved animals and had many pets, in his last years there were “Scamper” and “Jerry”. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Susquehanna, PA where served in several capacities in the past. His loving devotion to family and friends will always be cherished. A viewing will be held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Monday, March 9, 2015, from 5 to 8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Susquehanna, PA, on a later date. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA after the Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Susquehanna, PA.
