Ronald L. Butts, 70, of Deposit, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

He was predeceased by his parents Bernard & Evelyn (Schriver) Butts, wife Dorothy Butts, and brother Carl Butts.

Ronald is survived by his children Janie Marie & Brian Rogers, Cheri & Lori Butts, James & Christina Tuttle, Mary Sherwood, & Ronald Butts, Jr.; grandchildren Alexius, Melinda, Macie, Cameron, Brett, Bryan, Gayle, Zachary, Aleigha, Dagan, Maddison, Trayvon, Roland III, Scott, and Arlene; several great grandchildren; and brother William Butts.

Ronald was born August 7, 1955, in Sidney, NY and was raised in Deposit, NY. Throughout his career Ronald worked as a farmer with Ronnie Edwards and Melvin Depew and then at Indian Country wood manufacturing. He was a devoted member of the Living Hope Church in Endicott, NY.  He was a part of the Senior Center in Endwell, NY where he volunteered serving coffee and working at the gift shop. Ronald enjoyed putting puzzles together. He was a fun-loving man whose smile lit up the room. Ronald will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 1pm at the Masonic Hall, 206 Front St. Deposit, NY.
