Roy Gene Hurlburt, age 69, of Lecanto, FL passed away on October 26, 2016 at Citrus Memorial Hospital. Roy was born on October 3, 1947 in Harmony Township, PA to the late Bernard and Mary Regina (Musa) Hurlburt. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. After his military service, Roy was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 35 years. On March 2, 1971, he married Mary Foley, with whom he shared 45 loving years of marriage. 5 years ago, Roy and Mary made Citrus County their home after relocating from Susquehanna, PA. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Roy also liked collecting vintage items, going to yard sales and reading the daily news. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. In addition to his loving wife, Mary, those left to mourn Roy's passing are his daughters, Lynn Marie Maloney and her husband, Terrence of Buckingham, PA, Christie Lynn Hurlburt and her significant other, Robert John Lucke of Vestal, NY; brothers, Bernard Hurlburt, Jr. and his wife, Diane of Jackson, PA, Roger Hurlburt and his wife, Dorothy of Lecanto, FL; sister, Sandra Franks and her husband, Thomas of Great Bend, PA; grandchildren, Colton Marvin, Michael Marvin, Erin Whitney and her husband, Nicklaus, Kevin Crawford; great-grandchildren, Owen Whitney, Logan Whitney, Fletcher Whitney; brother-in-law, Marvin Foley and his wife, Jacqueline of Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law, Linda Brown and her husband, Tim of Cookeville, TN; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parent's, Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Skellett. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Hennessy's Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave Susquehanna, Pa on April 8th, 2017 at noon with Rev. David Cramer officiating. In addition to Roy's service, Ralph and Theresa Lee's ashes will also be present. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11am to noon. Burial will be in the St. John’s Cemetery in Susquehanna.
