Ruth Evelyn Boughton

Ruth E. Boughton Of Susquehanna, PA Ruth E. (French) Boughton, 81, of Susquehanna, passed away February 27, 2022, at her home after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlen B. and Marian C. (Ives) French, and her husband, Crosby B. Boughton. She is survived by her brothers, Harold French of Sinking Springs, PA and Richard French of Bethesda, MD; four sons, Roger Boughton and wife Linda of Goldvein, VA; Robert Boughton and wife Linda of Owego, NY; Daniel Boughton, Sr. and Judy Consla of Lanesboro; and Gary Boughton of Susquehanna; four grandchildren, Daniel Boughton Jr., Rachael Boughton, Adam Boughton, and Alex Boughton; and two great-grandchildren. When she was not busy raising her sons, Ruth worked as a sales associate for F.W. Woolworth’s in Binghamton, as a payment receiver for Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, and the job she really enjoyed, as a bus driver for the Susquehanna Community School System in Susquehanna. Ruth had a joy for animals and spent many hours watching the wildlife at her home ranging from birds of many varieties to the occasional black bear. She really enjoyed spending time with her friends over the years and treasured those moments with them. Ruth’s constant companion, her dog Abby, could always be found by her side. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 1pm at Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from Noon to 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth’s name to the Oakland Boro Park, 380 State Street, Susquehanna, PA 18847.
