Steve J. Sicovitch Of Thompson, PA Steve J. Sicovitch, 77, of Thompson, PA, passed away on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA after losing his battle with cancer. He was born in Scranton, PA to the late Stephen Sicovitch and Evelyn Kusher. He is survived by his four children Rory, Megan, Joseph, Steven and his sister Donna Novak, nieces and nephews. Steve was an Air Force veteran having served in Korea as a medic. He later became an Essex County Narcotics police officer in West Orange and Newark, NJ. He then inherited and ran his father's construction company, SJS Construction before finally retiring. Upon his retirement, he spent countless hours remodeling his house that helped raise his children. He worked at the local TREHAB center in Susquehanna, PA helping distribute food to those in need. He was a member of the American Legion and a volunteer for the Democratic Party during county and state elections. He spent the remaining days of life at his home in Thompson, PA spending time with his children and friends. Steve enjoyed farming and tending to the lawn and garden as he worked outdoors as much as possible. He will be truly missed by the many people he touched throughout his life. A special thank you to the hospital staff at Barnes Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, PA for taking as great care as possible during his trying time. He was very lucky to have them taking care of him while he resided there until his passing. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Interment will be held in the St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City, PA at a later date.
