Susan Hillary (Burns) McFadden Susan Hillary McFadden (née Burns) entered into eternal rest on November 29, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. She is survived by Brian McFadden (husband) of Lubbock, TX; Robert J. Burns (father) of Susquehanna, PA (passed away Feb. 18, 2021); Lori and Robert Burns (brother and sister-in-law); Rachael (niece) and her husband Jonathan Kellar of Binghamton, NY; Michael and Sarah Petroski (uncle and aunt); Christine and Michael Petroski (cousins); Anna Marie McFadden (mother-in-law); Jennifer and Patrick McFadden (sister- and brother-in-law); Rob and Maggie McFadden (nephew and niece); and Angie Hogan and Kevin McFadden (sister- and brother-in-law). Susan was preceded in death by Ann Janet Burns (mother); John and Helen Petroski (grandparents); Sally Burns (aunt); Bette Zagunis (aunt); Jack Petroski (uncle); and James McFadden (father-in-law). Susan graduated from Susquehanna High School in 1989 and began an art program at Kutztown University, eventually transferring to the nursing program at Luzerne Community College and becoming a registered nurse in 2000. She worked at Barnes-Kasson Hospital in the operating room; after moving to Lubbock, she worked at University Medical Center as an operating room nurse. Sue brought joy to her family, friends, and co-workers with an infectious laugh and wry sense of humor. She was an avid reader, passionate about the works of Adriana Trigiani and Janet Evanovich. She loved games, cooking, and entertaining friends. She continued to draw and paint small projects and was an excellent decorator, keeping up her artistic talents. She also loved animals, especially her treasured rescue dog, Foxy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10am at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Susquehanna, PA. The family will receive friends at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 5pm to 8pm. Interment will be held in the St. John’s Cemetery.
