Thomas Smith Of Deposit, NY On Monday, August 30, 2021 Thomas Smith died at home at the age of 55. Tom is survived by his daughters Victoria and Cassandra Smith; his Woman Nedra Edwards and her children James, Kenneth, Tyra and Christopher; his sister Cathy Stephens; his brother Carl (Cork) Smith; many beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Verna Smith and his brother Robert (Bob) Smith. Tom was born September 3 in Hancock NY. He was the youngest of 4 and an absolute mama’s boy. He loved his parents dearly. He grew up in Deposit. Growing up he loved to hunt and fish. He moved to Texas where he welcomed his two daughters. Tom returned to New York where he was a stonecutter for 20+ years. He was a man that could build or fix anything and was known to grill one hell of a steak. When he wasn’t hunting or fishing he enjoyed playing poker or pool. He was known as a man with a big heart that would give the shirt off his back to a friend in need. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to FARA - Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance in honor of his granddaughter Bella.
