Timothy K. Cotter, passed away on March 28, 2026, at the Regional Hospital of Scranton after a long, hard-fought battle with kidney disease. Born on December 24, 1967, in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, Tim spent his early years in his hometown before moving to Corning, New York, where he attended school.

Throughout his career, Tim held many different jobs, gaining a wealth of experience and insight into various fields before embarking on an entrepreneurial journey. He took great pride in establishing his own business, Cotter Co. Commercial Kitchen Cleaning, an endeavor that reflected his commitment to excellence and service. His business not only symbolized his professional success but also his drive and independence.

Beyond his work, Tim was a man who cherished his family deeply. He is remembered as someone who loved to have a good time, embracing life's moments with enthusiasm and joy. His hobbies, which included hunting and fishing, they were passions that brought him peace and a connection to nature that he passed down to all his children. He had a passion for music and the acoustic guitar which he shared with his son.

Tim is survived by his beloved children: Mary Jo Stout and her husband Adam, Chester Cotter and his wife Kayleigh, August Cotter, and Cierra Cotter as well as their mother Cheryl Dragnett. He was a proud grandfather to Lillian, Remington, Easton, Daisy, Logan, Zavannah, Lorelei, and Marshall, who brought light and happiness to his later years. His large family is further enriched by his siblings: sisters Shane Dacosta, Sue Prentice, Kathleen Ackley & Tom Camden, Mary Jo & Steve Glover, Bridget & Stephen Graver, and Maureen Linn, as well as his brother Jon Joe Cotter, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, & friends. All of whom hold cherished memories of Tim.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Evelyn Cotter, and his brothers Terry Cotter and Michael Cotter. Their memory lives on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hennessey's Funeral Home to help the family with funeral arrangement expenses.
