Victoria Margaret Cempa

Victoria Cempa Of Deposit, NY Surrounded by her family, Victoria Margaret Cempa (88) was called home by her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 19, 2021. Victoria was at last reunited with her soulmate and husband of 56 years, Julian, her daughters, Kathleen and Christine, and her parents, Anna and John. Victoria's memory will live on through her three sons, Gregory (Darlene), Andrew (Velma), and Matthew (Susan), and her nine grandchildren Hannah (Josh), Marissa (John), Peter, Caleb, Kathleen, Julian, Lydia (Wesley), Sarah, and Jared, and their families. She will also be remembered and missed by her siblings Dolores, John (Loretta), and Michael (Maria). Victoria was known by many as a reliable, generous, and lifelong friend. Her contributions to the Deposit State Theatre and her active involvement in local social activities will not soon be forgotten by all those who loved her. Victoria also spent over ten years running Kreative Keepsakes, a local craft store that brought her insurmountable joy. Victoria will be most fondly remembered as a wonderful mother and the best nana to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Victoria spent much of her free time in previous years tending to her garden and lawn; when one visited, she would often be found outside passing the hours enjoying the sunshine and warm breeze. Victoria also enjoyed cooking, especially traditional Polish and Czechoslovakian food for her family; many of those passed-down recipes will continue to be made and savored in her memory and honor. As a lifelong devout Catholic, Victoria was an active and involved member at her local parish, Saint Joseph's. Victoria leaves behind a long legacy of love, caring, nurturing, faith, and hope. While her family is deeply saddened by her absence, they find abundant peace in knowing that she is at home with her Lord and Savior and the family she has so greatly missed. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 98 2nd Street, Deposit, NY. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 7-9 pm and Friday, July 23, 2021 from 9-10:30 am at Hennessy’s Funeral Home, 78 2nd Street, Deposit, NY. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Victoria’s memory to Deposit State Theatre, PO Box 318, Deposit, NY 13754.
