Victoria Hempstead, 88, of Deposit, NY passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City, NY the same day as her loving husband of 64 years Frank “Pete” Hempstead.

She was predeceased by her parents William & Dora (Zurn) Waldron; brother and sister-in-law William & Ann Waldron; and many dogs.

Victoria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jeanne & Mark Tucker of Deposit, NY; son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey & Julia Hempstead of Deposit, NY; sister and brother-in-law Sherri & Howard Welsh of Bainbridge, NY; grandchildren, Luke & Rachel Tucker, Cody & Jessica Tucker, Sarah & Ben Herrick, Nienna & Mark DelliCarpini, Hannah Hempstead & Thomas Topel, Susanna Hempstead & Rene` Plevyak , Joanna & Howard Bell, Nadia Hempstead, Samuel Hempstead, Elenya Hempstead, and Daniel Hempstead; great grandchildren, Mason, Aubrie, Rylan, Lily, and Sadie Tucker, Jack, Levi, Evangeline, and Inara Herrick, Silas, Simeon, Gideon, and Elanor DelliCarpini, George, Juliette, and Louise Bell; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vicky was an executive Secretary at Hancock Central School, Mohawk Airlines in Utica NY and for the Board of Water Supply in Deposit.  She also clerked for many years at Browns Pharmacy. She was a member of the Deposit Civic Club and in later years enjoyed volunteering at Deposits Closet.  Vicky loved being the Regalia Chairperson of the New England MGT Register and attending the GOFs (Gathering of the Faithful) all over the world.   MGing with her friends, including putting their cars on a ship and touring in England where the cars were made, was her favorite pastime.  Traveling with Pete and friends all over the world brought her much joy and lots of great memories. In later years she enjoyed getting together with the Hancock alumni “lunch bunch” to enjoy memories with her fellow classmates.  She also derived much pleasure from spending time with her dogs.  Mostly Bassett Hounds but many other breeds down through the years could be found in the Hempstead household.

Calling hours will be at the First United Methodist Church in Deposit, NY on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 10am till 1pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1pm at the church.  The family will be having a celebration of Pete and Vicky at The Deposit Community Park immediately following the funeral.

Interment will be held in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit, NY at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Deposit Community Park, PO Box 204, Deposit, NY 13754.
