Virgil Anthony Testa, age 77, went to be with his Lord on May 21, 2022, at Regional Hospital in Scranton, PA.

Virgil is survived by his children James Testa of San Francisco, CA and Elizabeth McGinness of Montrose, PA; his brother Raymond and Patricia Testa of Susquehanna, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Virgil was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Margaret Testa of Susquehanna, PA; his sister Susan and Robert Terboss of Susquehanna, PA; and his loving wife of 44 years Mary Lousie Testa.

Virgil was born on September 2, 1944, in Susquehanna, PA. He was a graduate of Susquehanna High School, class of 1962. He received an Associate Degree from both Broome Community College and Luzerne County Community College. He went to Cosmetology school and started his career as a hairdresser for more than 30 years. Virgil also worked several years at Barnes-Kasson Hospital in the dietary and medical records departments.

Virgil was a member of St. John the Evangelist church where he taught Sunday school and was an Eucharistic Minister for many years. He was a loving father and husband. In his younger years, Virgil enjoyed hunting with his father and brother. His hobbies included painting, drawing, and watching classic movies.

Virgil had a strong devotion to his faith and spent most of his days in prayer for others. He will be remembered the most for his clever and witty sense of humor. Virgil was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 10am at St. John’s Cemetery, Susquehanna, PA.
