Virginia Ayres, 76, of Susquehanna, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Barnes Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna, PA.

She was predeceased by her parents George & Betty (Munson) Cavanaugh; husband Raymond L. Ayres; Son Raymond Christopher Ayres; and brother Larry Cavanaugh.

Virginia is survived by her two sons Scott Ayres (Denise Caruso) and Bryan (Valerie) Ayres; daughter-in-law Christina Ayres; stepson Warren (Tom) Rincavage; grandchildren Kelsey, Kevin, Chelsea, Christopher, Julianna, Liliana, Alyssa, Avery, Delaney, Adalyn; great grandchildren Jaxson, Matthew, Wyatt, Winstyn, Ella, Annalynn; siblings Donald Cavanaugh, Tim Cavanaugh, Kathy (Ozzie) Miller, and Sue Stanek; several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was born in Susquehanna, PA, on June 1, 1947. She worked at Matis’s Manufacturing, Starrucca House, Town Restaurant, and retired from the Barnes Kasson Hospital Dietary Department. Virginia was a beacon of generosity, selflessness, and dedication, touching the lives of all who knew her. Her hard work and unwavering love will forever be cherished by her family and friends. May her kindness and spirit live on in our hearts forever.

A private ceremony for the family will be held on May 11, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery in Susquehanna, PA.

A celebration of life will follow from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at Lanesboro Community Center for family and friends.
