Virginia C. Uprightof Starrucca, PA Virginia (Gina) Upright, 85 passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center in Forest City, PA. Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt & Neighbor Gina lived life fully, living by the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. She raised her children, worked and played, all the while devoting her life to her loving husband, Carl, of 67 years. Having lost their oldest son, Brian, in Vietnam, she knew heartbreak but in spite of the sorrow, she found solace in God, to accept what she could not change; she trusted, never faltering from her belief in God. Along with their son, Brian, Carl and Gina had four other children, including son, Bradley Upright, married to Jean, son, Brent Upright, married to Mary Pat, son, Brett Upright, and daughter, Brenda , married to Bob Reddon. Carl and Gina were also blessed with grandchildren and great grands that shared her life. Gina had four siblings Arthur, Lorie, Vickie, and Ray, and many loving sister and brother in laws. To know Gina was to love her. She loved her roles in life and all of us that were lucky enough to know her, came away understanding what a good honest country lady she was. Gina could pull a trout out of any hole in the Starrucca Creek, she pitched a mean softball, loved the outdoors and many an evening burned up the backyard with a challenging game of badminton or crochet. Bowling, golf, fishing and walking the roads of Starrucca with her husband was her life. She never turned away anyone in need. Gina loved her flowers, including rose bushes that her mother, Edith Kopp, had given her to plant. Her Father, Stanley Kopp, passed on to Gina her love for the outdoors, watching the bears in her backyard, feeding the birds which perched on the feeders Carl made, and harvesting the many gardens that she and Carl planted together. Gina will be cherished and live long on in the hearts of those who love her. Though absent in body Gina will not be absent in spirit for all of us who love this dear lady. She will be with us at every sunrise and every sunset. It’s our privilege to honor her memory. A Private Service will be held at the family’s convenience.
