Walter D. Konsur, Sr.of Jackson, PAWalter Delbert Konsur, Sr., 93, of Jackson, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, at home. He was a joyful and friendly member of the community who will be sorely missed. Born in Throop, son of the late Stanley and Pauline Warezcha Konsur, he graduated from Harford High School in 1943 where he played baseball. He served our country in the Army 104th Infantry Division and was deployed during WWII 1944-1945. He saw combat in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon his return, he completed 4 years of Agricultural School via the GI Bill. Walter was an active and social man who loved fishing, chatting with friends, playing the accordion in his band, The Ramblin’ Rhythm Riders, and driving around the countryside. On any given day, you could find him sitting at one of the local diners having coffee and exchanging funny stories. He was a dairy farmer who managed his farm with the tireless assistance of his late wife, Louise. Surviving are his sister, Helen Kovell. Also surviving are his children: Joanne, Walt Jr., Ronald and their spouses Bill, Jodi and Cheryl. He has also left behind grandchildren: Alexandra Konsur, Allison Schreiber, Adreanna Konsur, Tia Konsur and Zoe Konsur along with 1 great grandchild Clark Allan Schreiber. Walter was also preceded in death by his brothers Stanley and John, and his sisters Josephine, Edna and Mary. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Susquehanna, PA and he will be laid to rest beside his late wife at St. John’s Cemetery.
