Walter S. Kurek

  Walter S. Kurek Of Thompson, PA  Walter Kurek, 91, of Campsite Road, Thompson, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Barnes Kasson SNF in Susquehanna, PA, after an illness. Walter was born in Carteret, NJ, on June 27 1922, to the late Joseph and Mary Kurek. He was predeceased by his companion Ann Nazar. Walter was born and raised in Carteret, NJ, and then moved to Campsite Road, Thompson, PA after his retirement. He served in the United States Army, as an Engineer during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post #86, Susquehanna. Walter will be dearly missed by all of his friends and neighbors. A funeral service will be held at the Hennessey’s Funeral Home 747 Jackson Ave. Susquehanna, PA, on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 1pm with Rev. David Cramer officiating. Burial will be held in the Thompson Cemetery, Thompson, PA. A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, from 12 to 1pm, at the funeral home..
